TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14 (2)

Kent County Council gives notice that The Strand, Walmer will be closed to through traffic, on or after 18th April 2024 for up to 2 days.

The road will be closed at the junctions of The Beach and Liverpool Road.

The alternative route is via The Strand, Victoria Road, Ranelagh Road, Prince Of Wales Terrace, Victoria Parade, Beach Street, South Parade, Broad Street, Queen Street, London Road, Albert Road, Sandwich Road, Deal Road, Sandwich Bypass, Eastry Bypass, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C237 Venson Road To Entry A256 Roundabout, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C227 Kennel Hill To C237 Venson Road, Whitfield Bypass, Whitfield Interchange Northern Roundabout, Dover Road Slip Eastbound On, A2 Junction with A256 Join South East, A2 Through Junction with A256 South East, A2 Between Whitfield Roundabout And Junction With A256, A2 From Junction with A256 To Junction with A258 Roundabout Including Dualling, A2 Between Junction With A256 And Duke Of Yorks Roundabout, A2 Junction with A258 Roundabout and Dover Road.

It is planned that the road will be closed between 19:00 hrs and 5:00 hrs each day.

This closure is necessary to enable carriageway resurfacing to be carried out by Kent County Council.

This Notice applies when the relevant signs and barriers are on site and is valid for a period of no more than 5 days.
