Deal Castle Bathing Water Quality
Published: 28 November 2024
Recently the Environment Agency completed and published their annual bathing water classifications. The report indicated that the Deal Castle bathing water site has been classified as having poor bathing water quality. As a result, the Environment Agency has advised Dover District Council to notify the public that their advice is not to swim.
Dover District Council has erected a sign at the Deal Castle bathing water quality information board and has also put a post out on social media. DDC and the Environment Agency have asked for assistance in sharing this information with others who may be considering swimming in the sea
A copy of their social media post can be seen below:

The sampling
results can be found at the DDC website.
Should you have any concerns or technical questions regarding this
classification please contact the Environment Agency directly as the
responsible authority for maintaining and improving bathing water quality.
Currently DDC is waiting for further information from the Environment Agency regarding what steps they intend to take in response to the poor classification.
