Walmer lies seven miles northeast of Dover on a stretch of coast which extends from the famous White Cliffs to Sandwich Bay. On the northern boundary lies Deal Castle and the main Town of Deal. To the east is the English Channel, reaching across the Goodwin Sands to the coast of France.
Walmer has a population of over 7,000 and has a significant proportion of elderly residents being a popular retirement area.
