Kent Downs Management Plan Consultation

Published: 26 May 2026

Kent Downs  pleased to let you know that the draft Kent Downs National Landscape Management Plan consultation is now live, and open until Sunday 19 July 2026.

This is a key opportunity for local communities, including parish councils, residents, landowners, farmers, businesses and organisations, to help shape the future of the Kent Downs National Landscape.

How you can help

Please consider sharing the consultation through your usual parish communications, for example:

  • Parish newsletters
  • Websites
  • Noticeboards
  • Social media pages
  • Local networks and community groups

Even a short mention with a link would be hugely valuable in helping Kent Downs reach more local voices.

Consultation materials

To make this easier, they have created a Partner Communications Toolkit which includes:

  • Suggested wording for newsletters and posts
  • Key messages
  • Images and supporting resources
  • A short guidance note

Why this matters

The Management Plan guides long-term priorities for the Kent Downs, including:

  • Nature recovery and biodiversity
  • Farming and land management
  • Climate resilience
  • Access, recreation and tourism
  • Planning and sustainable development

It is used by local authorities and partners to help shape decisions affecting the landscape.

Have your say

The draft Plan has been shaped by earlier engagement with over 1,200 people and organisations, and they now want to hear further views before it is finalised.
